My experience with PSUPA has been extremely helpful in negotiating the many aspects of my lessons and guiding business. The PSUPA Instuctor program not only has more of a detailed focus on paddle technique, safety and modifications than other instructor courses I have participated in, but the course also covers in depth many of the ‘back end’ aspects to running a water based business.
The community around the PSUPA, the discussions of gear and modalities has been invaluable asset to the building of my business. PSUPA Leadership is always available for Q&A and has a very good read on the industry, including gear, locales and all things paddle. I highly recommend an affiliation with this organization for paddle instructors and anyone wishing to have a deeper understanding of the paddle industry and current trends.
I completed the Flat Water Level I Certification in Seattle, WA. The certification course was packed with valuable information that will help me run a new Stand Up Paddle business. The classroom time gave me the tools that I need for running safe classes, understanding different types of customers, and much more.
