Larry is based out of Roseville, CA (near Sacramento) and is the owner of Gray Whale Paddle (est. 1992). He has been involved in paddleboarding (SUP and prone) since 1999, including racing, instruction (beginner to instructor level) since 2008, retail sales, and a kit board design partnership with Chesapeake Light Craft. Larry is certified to instruct basic-intermediate level SUP courses through PSUPA, and certified to train instructors. Additionally, Larry is a certified Personal Trainer and Sports Nutritionist with a passion for health/fitness/nutrition education and coaching (Froley Fitness Works). Larry is a retired CA State Park Ranger where he had been a patrol boat operator and later managed boating safety/enforcement and lifeguard programs, giving him a unique perspective on water safety issues and programs.
